Minor League (9 Year Old) League Rules

Revised 04/09/2016

All USSSA RULES will be followed for league play with the following exceptions/additions:

1. Time limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes or 6 innings. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, the USSSA International Tournament rule will be followed: the batter that made the last out during the teams previous at-bat will automatically go to second-base, then batting will continue in the correct order. Each team will receive it's turn at bat. Only 1 extra inning is played. If after one extra inning the game is still tied, the game ends in a tie, unless it is a championship game.

2. A team may score a maximum of 6 runs per inning.

3. The infield fly rule is NOT in effect.

4. All league pitching rules apply. If a pitching rule is violated, the game may be protested (by any league head coach) up to one week after the infraction. If the protest is upheld, the game will be ruled a forfeit.

5. Any defensive timeout called by a coach will be charged as a visit to the mound except for an injury or equipment repair timeout.

6. When the bases are loaded, each strike (called or swinging) will remove all previous balls on the batter.
Example: The bases are loaded and the batter has a 2-0 count. The pitcher throws a called strike. This makes the count 0-1. This rule is only in effect only when the bases are loaded.

7. Teams play with four (4) outfielders.

8. The batter is not allowed to run to 1B on a dropped 3rd strike. It is a strike out and the batter is out.
